Getting "Hooked" Up

I now have my own "Designer" Page on Ravelry!  Woohoo!  Now I just need to write up all these patterns I have floating around in my head, and get them posted! Then I'll really be getting "hooked" up!  lol  If you're on Ravelry, look for me: missyboo.

Right now there is only one, Color Twist Hat. Let's see if I can get a picture in here.  Ok, that didn't work, so I've linked a picture to the title of the hat from a previous post.  That pattern is available in the book called Crochet Liberation Front's First Ever Book, available on Amazon.com.

Have a good night!  :D

2009 CGOA Conference

Now I have to save up my pennies again! Yesterday it was "announced" that the next CGOA Conference would be at the Buffalo Convention Center, August 5-9, 2009. I don't have the words to tell you how it felt to go this past summer! Unbelievable, fantastic, outrageous, scary, nervous, exciting, informative....just to name a few. If you ever get the chance to go, do it! Hubby is now officially retired from his "formal" job, so I won't need to worry about conflicting schedules there with Missyboo not being in school, and I've got enough "seniority" at work to be able to get that week for vacation without any problem, so........hmmm!

Now I Did It!

Well this is what I get for being nosey. Eeessh!  I thought I would see if there were any new templates on my blog server here.  I took a look at one, thought I liked it, tried out the preview, clicked the wrong button and enabled it, and lost my original layout.  It was an "old" one (no longer supported), but a new one to me! (July!!!)  So now my blog has yet a THIRD look to it this year!  Why do I never learn to leave things alone?!  Ah well.  Hope you like the way it looks now.  Let me know, ok?

I now know why I can't find my pictures of Dee petting yarn.  They're not even on a CD yet!  DUH!  They're still on my new camera, and I've been too much of a chicken lately to brave loading the software onto my computer with the way it's been acting!

Not Sure I'm Liking This...!

I'm not too sure I'm liking all my pictures on CD.  For backup and "savings", it's great, but oh, man, what a pain to get them loaded elsewhere!!!  I've regained about 10% of space on my hard drive since last night, and let me tell ya, it took me all day!  I couldn't get my pictures in my picture program to burn to CD no matter what I tried!  It always came back to say "sorry, there was an error".  So.......

Using a couple of flash drives plugged into the USB, I was able to drag and drop the pictures and videos, then taking those to Hubby's laptop and burning the CDs on his.  Guess what, it worked fine!  But not on mine!!!  I don't want a new computer!  I like this one fine!  (bawling)

Anyway, I've got one new picture to show you!  (It would take me another 15 minutes of searching the CD to find the ones of Dee petting the yarns in Rhinebeck, but I will find them!) This is a top I made for Missyboo over the summer.  Bet you could'nt guess that it's in her favorite color! lol

One of these days I'll actually go back over it to write the pattern.  I think I would like one for me in MY size!

It's a bit on the big size for her right now, but she'll be able to wear it with a top underneath during the winter months and by next summer, it will (hopefully) fit her just fine.

I want to take a moment here to tell my old roomie: CONGRATULATIONS!  on having her Pineapple Shawl published!  It turned out beautiful, Karen.  You can see a lot more of her great projects if you're on Ravelry.  Her name there is Karend325.  Check them out!  You'll love 'em.

I've been driving myself nuts these last couple of months on two projects I sold while I was at the CGOA Conference in NH this past summer.  I wouldn't have thought it would be soooo much trouble for me to get the pattern straight!!!!!!!  But, perseverance paid off.  The only thing left to do now is write up the patterns from my notes and ship them off! I'll give a heads up when they get to be public.

Well, back to trying to fix my 'puter!

Have a good day.  :D

I Thought It Was Cured!

I've been having problems with my computer lately. It keeps telling me I'm running out of room on the hard drive. "Low Space" I can't figure out why. I've checked on clearing out unneeded files, etc., and I still have that problem. Hubby bought me an external hard drive so I could move my picture program and pictures to it, but the computer doesn't "read" that drive. But it works on his laptop. Go figure.

Then last night he bought me a new "micro" computer. It weighs all of 2 pounds! A little Acer notebook. What a time getting the plugin modem to load up! But that's been taken care of. The only problem now is the external hard drive does not have a CD slot, and neither does the new Acer. I'll have to see if I can load my camera program onto Hubby's laptop, then move it to the external hard drive, then plug that into the Acer. Oh boy! This techno stuff is really taxing my abilities! lol

I thought I would try loading my camera card straight into the Acer and go from there to show some pictures from Rhinebeck. But no..........my card is too small for the slots available. (boohoo blubbering getting started) Now I have to wait until next fall to go the state fair and get a new pair of ultra pointed tweezers. The points don't stay real straight when they're used for other than intended purposes. But I got my card out again!

Anyways......I had an absolute blast at Rhinebeck Sheep and Wool Festival. I went to a workshop with Lily Chin on Thursday before the festival, and part of the fee included a two day pass to get in. I car pooled with Grace from my crochet guild on Saturday, and we eventually met up with a few other women from the guild there. Margaret Hubert met up with us, and between the three of us, we knew quite a few people there! Jen wasn't sure if she would be going because of allergies/cold, but she did make it. When we caught up with her, she was in line waiting to pay for an arm load of yarn! Or was it a two-arm load?!

We ran into Doris Chan in the "food court" area, and Judy Pascale over by some of the outbuildings.

After doing a lot of sightseeing and petting, Margaret, Grace and I decided to have a treat. Some ice cream. It was absolutely delicious. But it didn't warm us up any! lol I don't think it was much over 55 degrees, and let me tell you, that wind was bloooowing!!!

I felt bad for Dee Stanziano. She wasn't able to make it on Saturday because of a migraine, but I called her on Sunday to see how she was doing, then twisted her arm to leave her nice warm cozy home to go up and out to the festival. We had a real good time too! But I'll warn you now--she takes sneaky pictures when you're not looking! (I've got a couple good shots of Dee doing some serious petting of yarns. Wish I could show you!)

It wasn't nearly as cold and blowy on Sunday. So I got to show her a bit of what was where, do some eating and more sight seeing, and meet up with a lady from Australia, who was stateside visiting one of her children in NYC.  It timed out perfectly for her to finally get the the festival.  All the other times, she was too early, or too late. She said she had a blast in a knitting workshop with Lily Chin.

Well I'd better let you go!  It's time for Missyboo and I to hit the sack.

Have a good nite.  :)
