Hat, Scarf and Mitten Set

These were made from a very thin chenille I got at a yarn swap during one of my local chapter meetings. I had originally thought to make some preemie outfits from it, but after working a few rows, I didn't think it would work for that purpose real well. I used double-strand because it was so flat and lifeless using only one strand The double strand gave it some ooomph that was sorely missing!

Made for my mother a few years ago. She calls it her "Modern Art" blanket.

I made these for a friend's Christmas present, and since they're 100% cotton, they're oversized to leave room for shrinkage. Now when his parents come to visit, his mother can't complain his table isn't "dressed up" :D There's another view of them in the Journal Entries.

Cable twisted Scarfy Shawlette

This one is done only in the remaining half of the "ONE POUND" skein. It has some raised rows with some twists spaced out along the length.

Stained-glass Easter Afghan

Made with Paton's worsted weight yarns. One side looks like stained glass panes, and the other side looks striped. Two looks for the price of one!

Boy's Preemie Burial Ensemble

I was looking for a preemie pattern online, and noticed that burial outfits for boys and girls were pretty much the same - gowns. So I thought I would give it a try to see if I could make an outfit that said 'boy". I need to change the hat a bit, maybe add a bill rather than the ruffle it currently has. That's not too boy-ie that way!

My First Knit Projects

Made from RedHeart Soft yarn, the scarf is done in the round using single strand, stockinette stitch. The hat is using double strand, rib stitch. Boy is the hat nice and "squishy"! Hopefully its the right size for a boy between 8-12 yrs.
