This sweet pattern works up quickly.  Done in three panels with main color, it's joined with interesting, textured stitches in complimentary contrast color, and finished with a matching straight-edged border

Just as easily made in colors for girls, too.  Add a frillier border such as the one pictured here. Or go large, make it a Momma or a Daddy size!  (more yarn would be needed for that, though!)
